FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and How it Works

TimberLab Solutions Ltd hold FSC® Chain of Custody Certification with FSC license code FSC-C084824, certified by Preferred by Nature, for the supply of FSC certified timber.

TimberLab Glulam uses plantation grown NZ Pine which is recognised as a renewable resource. With environmental responsibility being such an important criterion in measuring good design, the ability to use a completely natural and renewable material is a responsible design choice.

What is FSC? FSC is an independent, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that works to promote the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. https://nz.fsc.org/en-nz/about-fsc

What does it mean? It means that if you have a project that specifies FSC material or if you just want to make a responsible construction choice, you choose a certified FSC supplier for your engineered timber.

How does it work? The whole supply chain for an FSC certified project must be supplied by accredited companies, from the forest owners to the end manufacturer, which provides assurance to the end user of timber being from a sustainable source.
