CONNECTIONS

Efficient and accurately produced connections are essential for the successful installation of engineered timber solutions. With TimberLab’s new 5 axis CNC gantry bridge we are able to ensure the repeatable accuracy of complex connections. Precision cutting, drilling, rebating, grooving mortising and bevelling can all be achieved to demanding tolerances.
As well as proprietary timber-to-timber fasteners, Timberlab is able to have purpose made connections designed and manufactured to suit a whole range of situations for connections carrying light or heavy loads.
Quality hot dip galvanised brackets and fastenings have proven a durable solution in many demanding applications in harsh and marine environments both in New Zealand and internationally.
Steel rods epoxy glued into timber beams and columns are an effective option to provide concealed fixings. The introduction of Glulam rivets for load bearing surface mounted plates has also achieved cost efficiencies compared to heavy bolted joints. Various specialist threaded screws have also emerged recently to assist in connection efficiencies.
With the 5 axis CNC machine Timberlab is committed to working with designers in developing new and innovative connection systems.
