TimberLab was happy to assist the designers in achieving the unique shape of this exceptional building with its distinctive curved form. When it came to working out how to manufacture the multifaceted fabricated LVL portal frames, TimberLab called on their MANY years’ experience with structures of complex geometry.
Each portal frame is made up of 3 layers of segmented shapes cut out of LVL. Each piece had to overlap the adjacent section so they all interlocked and formed one continuous structural frame.
With hundreds of different pieces each having their own particular location, careful supervision was necessary to make sure it all went together.
The final outcome once again demonstrates the distinctive solutions that TimberLab takes pride in having a part to play.
