An attractive new bridge connecting Rotorua’s CBD to Ngongataha is proving a great success with both the local community & Rotorua District Council. The bridge, designed by LHT Design, is part of a Council initiative to develop a series of cycle-ways throughout the region. The 34m span bridge members were pre-assembled in TimberLab factory to ensure site work was kept to a minimum. The slotting and drilling for the brackets was done before delivery to site.

Kelvin Landon from LHT says, “we enjoyed working closely with “the manufacturer,” ensuring the structure was simple to build, cost-effective & in-line with the client’s needs. The structural frame of the bridge curves in differing directions, creating a crossing that carries the required load, but also has a soft visual impact.
