The Kauaeranga Valley Visitor Centre was constructed by Stanley Construction, Matamata. The largest of the beams was 765 x 115 x 31.0 metres. Virtually all the Glulam was exposed visually to the environmental elements;  they were either H3.2 CCA treated or H5 CCA treated. Glulam was the product of choice due to its weight to strength ratio (extremely light for its load capabilities) and the natural and harmonising way the product blended into the bush surrounds.
